Lucius ‘Luci’ Ivanoff is a second-generation immigrant, the son of an Irish-born seamstress and the youngest son of a Russian mob family.
His mother had Fey blood and his father was a brown bear lycanthrope.

His religious background is patchwork at best, with his Irish-Catholic mother who also followed Faerie holy days, and his Russian-Orthodox father who also enjoyed some good old-fashioned pagan Moon-Mother worship.

Luci himself prefers the old-world Grecian/Roman/Egyptian style of belief, with a whole committee of little gods, and he also enjoys the Faerie holidays, just because they’re more abundant and more fun.

He got his looks from his mother’s side of the family, but he’s a lycanthrope, a polar bear, for the most part he doesn’t mind this at all, though he often complains that the difference between hands and paws plays hell with his manicure.

The warring mafia factions in Luci’s world aren’t the Italians and the Russians as they are in most places, but instead they’re the Vampires with their pets versus the Lycanthropes with their witches.
Pureblood humans are a rarity, and most of those work as hunters for one side or the other.

Luci works as both window dressing and muscle for the Lycanthropes (who’s leader is actually a mermaid, go figure). Most people are surprised at the fact that he’s used as a bodyguard, mostly because of his narrow frame, but also because of the fact that he’s usually wearing a dress. He plays shamelessly into this and rarely fights fair.

The rules for born-weres are different than the ones for bitten-weres. Born-weres can transform at will, or only partially, and a few of them stay half-shifted at all times. Luci usually just uses this ability to add extra muscle during fights.
During the full moon the shift is unavoidable, and during the new moon it’s more difficult.
